Advent is the start of a new year in the liturgical calendar. Contrary to the usual busyness of the season, Advent invites us to slow down, reflect, pray and make space to receive Christ anew in the messy stables of our hearts at Christmas. In addition, during Advent we remember the Israelites longing for the coming of the Messiah and His second coming at the end of the world.
