The next SJV Social Justice meeting will be held on Thursday, September 9 at 6:30 pm in their Activities Center and will be focused on Mental Health. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major effect on our lives, including impacting the mental health of many. God does not want any of his children to suffer in these ways: “For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, not for woe! plans to give you a future full of hope.” Jeremiah 29:11. Come, hear how to cope with mental health issues and how to help others suffering from mental illness.
Our speaker will be Our Lady of Lourdes parishioner, Dr. Henry Emerle, psychiatrist at Vera French Community Mental Services. A representative from NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) will also present and a call to action will be made. Of course, there will be refreshments! For more information, please email Henry or Erin Emerle.
