The Parish Council is charged with developing and implementing a focused plan for the parish. continually moving the church forward and furthering her mission to make disciples.
The work of the Parish Council is divided among Six Commissions:
- Church Life – This Commission strives to foster a sense of belonging and community among parishioners, making Jesus Christ the center of our parish.
- Worship and Spirituality – This Commission is responsible for nurturing the liturgical life of the parish by planning opportunities for individual and communal prayer and worship. This includes coordinating music, decorations, lectors, and altar servers for weekly Masses, as well as special celebrations like Christmas and Easter.
- Faith Formation – This Commission purpose helps to ensure that the Good News of Jesus Christ is boldly proclaimed to parishioners of all ages and backgrounds through our parish programming and events..
- Social Action – This Commission works to transform the world by inspiring and equipping parishioners to live as missionary disciples, called to put the Gospel into action. As a response to our faith in Christ and His command to “love one another”, our community strives to alleviate human suffering by meeting the immediate needs of individuals and by working to eliminate the causes of social problems.
- Family Life – This commission helps to build up the heart of Christian community: the family. They work to strengthen the relationships of individuals within a family, enriching the growth of healthy families and assisting those families encountering difficulties.
- Finance & Administration – This commission is responsible for assuring the necessary material resources- land, buildings, finances -that will enable the parish to carry on the work of Christ. To a great extent, the effectiveness of the other commissions and of the pastoral mission of the Church will depend on whether the necessary resources are available to operate the programs that are deemed necessary.
