The Catholic Messenger is the official newspaper of the Diocese of Davenport. The Catholic Messenger’s annual subscription drive kicks off this month. An envelope will be included in The Catholic Messenger subscription to all households in the Diocese of Davenport in the issue on January 19, 2023. This weekend, parishes kick off the 2023 subscription drive. To help encourage more people to subscribe, all
households in the diocese will receive one free print edition of The Catholic Messenger on January 19 and free access to the e-edition from January 19 to February 19. No other media, print or digital, covers the Catholic Church in our diocese with the expertise and integrity of The Catholic Messenger. It is a real value at $30 per year for 50 issues — print, e-edition or both. Watch for the subscription drive in your parish.

The Catholic Messenger is a real value!

Each week, The Catholic Messenger reflects the life of the church throughout the world with an emphasis on diocesan news, parishes and our Catholic schools. Learn how other Catholics are living out their faith and the joys and struggles that come with it. You can stay connected at a time that demands adaptation and creativity in responding to the needs of the faithful.

The Messenger is a real value at $30 for a year-long subscription to receive 50 issues via print and/or e-edition.

Three ways to pay for your subscription:

You may not realize it, but all households in our parish are automatically subscribed to The Catholic Messenger as a service and resource provided to all our parishioners. Yet, we still need to make a payment for each subscription and every year we ask for all households to pay for the renewal of their subscription or to opt out of receiving it by contacting the parish offices. Below are the three ways you can pay to renew your subscription…

  • Pay through our parish by contacting our business office or making a payment on our website by clicking here, signing into your VANCO account and scrolling down to make a payment under the heading “Catholic Messenger”.
  • Complete and return payment per the instructions in the envelope sent with the January 27, 2023 issue of The Catholic Messenger.
  • Pay directly on The Catholic Messenger website (see the video below for step-by-step instructions).

Five reasons you should read The Catholic Messenger:

  • To enrich your faith and the faith life of family members.
  • To stay informed of news affecting Catholics locally, nationally and globally.
  • To find new ideas for parish ministry.
  • To follow Bishop Thomas Zinkula’s teachings and interactions in the diocese.
  • To be inspired by local and national columnists and other great thinkers of our day.

The Catholic Messenger allows the opportunity to gain insights on spirituality from Bishop Zinkula, Father Ron Rolheiser and our diocesan clergy, women religious and lay people. Be inspired by stories of faith from throughout our diocese!
