Look below for a snapshot of some of the events and opportunities open to middle school students this year.

Small Faith Groups (AKA “Grow Groups”) – We need others beside us to walk this journey of life and faith. “Grow groups” are essentially small faith sharing groups. Groups of 6-8 middle school students and 2-3 adult leaders will meet (virtually or in person, but practicing social distancing) about every other week to discuss the ups and downs of life and living as a young disciple of Jesus. Depending on interest and registrations, some groups may be more focused on Bible study while others may be more focused on community and sharing life experiences.

Weekly Challenge Group Messaging Community on Flipgrid – Not able to commit to a regular meeting or want to be involved at your own pace? Sign up for either our middle school weekly challenge group. About every week, starting in October, using the Flipgrid program, a short video or topic will be sent for students to think about and focus on during the week. Students can also reply to topic prompts and creatively share their thoughts via their own short videos.

Youth Alpha – This is an opportunity that is organized seasonally and sometimes open to middle school students. Click here to visit our Youth Alpha page.

Youth ConferencesEach year we strive to offer students an opportunity to unplug from their normal day-to-day environment and dive into a deeper experience of the Catholic church and connect with other youth from around the country. In the past few years we’ve sent students to Holy Fire – Chicago in October. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Holy Fire has be canceled for 2020. However, we may be able to offer some virtual conference opportunities this year, so stay tuned. Contact Brett with questions or more information about what is going to be offered in the future.
