Hello, my name is Anne Camarena. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to teach a variety of our elementary learners here at Lourdes and to help them feel a sense of community and love that shines at LCS!
I attended Portland State University and George Fox University in Portland, Oregon and received my BA and MA in Elementary Education and Reading Interventions. After moving back home to the Quad Cities, I began teaching in the North Scott School District. I taught 4th grade for 4 years before stepping down to 3rd grade and teaching in that position for the next 4 years.
In 2014, after having our 4th baby in 4 years (Ah!), my husband, Joe, and I decided it was time to stay home with those little ones and focus on being Mom for a while. Those littles are now much bigger! Taylor and Joseph are in 6th grade, Brenna is in 4th grade, and Rhylee is in 3rd grade this year! Not only do I love creating a faith-filled, supportive environment in my own classroom, I also love that my children get to experience the same blessings in their own classrooms near me!
This is my 4th year back in the classroom. In those years I have taught kindergarten, a 1st/2nd grade combined classroom, 3rd grade, and now 4th grade! In my free time, I spend time cheering on my childrens' and husband's sports teams, playing volleyball on my own team, reading great books, and spending time outdoors camping, fishing, and riding horses.
