My name is Cari Robinson, and I have been teaching preschool/ Pre-K at Lourdes for two years. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to teach our youngest learners! I work hard to create not only a pre-academic foundation for them, but also a social and emotional foundation that will help them have lifelong success. I want them to leave me knowing that school is a safe place to try new things and that it's ok to try again if things don't go right the first time. I want them to develop friendship and learn how to work through peer problems. I want them to learn that sometimes they get to make choices at school, and sometimes they are expected to do what the teacher has planned. All of these things, and more, will create a well rounded foundation for them as they enter Pre-K and Kindergarten and will help them fall in love with school and become lifelong learners.
I received a BA in both Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa in 2013. After college, I taught an early childhood program for Lincoln Public Schools in Lincoln, Nebraska for many years. In Lincoln, I had the opportunity to work with families from many different backgrounds, including many who were new to our country. In addition, I received extensive training in the High Scope model, which is an early childhood model focused on active learning experiences.
In 2015, my husband, Ward (who is a native Nebraskan) and I moved our family back home. We now live in Eldridge with our two children: Elena, 6 and Rudy, 4. We stay busy with school, dance classes and soccer! In our free time we enjoy relaxing in our small town neighborhood and spending as much time as possible at grandma and grandpa's house!
