All K-8 students are invited to participate in Chess Club, which meets after school in the school cafeteria until 4:30 two Tuesdays per month. Parents may sign their students up for Chess Club at this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f084eada62babfb6-chess. This will enable us to make sure we have enough game sets on hand. No previous experience of playing chess is required.
Chess Club is supervised by a Virtus-certified parent volunteer. Rules and expectations include:
- Students in Chess Club are there for the purpose of playing chess, only.
- Students in Chess Club are respectful to all staff and adult volunteers.
- Students in Chess Club follow staff/adult directions the first time requested.
- Students in Chess Club who cannot follow the above expectations will be transferred to the After School Care program, and parents will incur any fees associated with After School Care (i.e. $25 registration fee if applicable and $5 per hour).
- Students in Chess Club must be picked up promptly at the cafeteria doors at 4:30, or students will be transferred to the After School Care program, and parents will incur any fees associated with After School Care (i.e. $25 registration fee if applicable and $5 per hour).
Parents, please make sure your child understands these expectations.
