My name is Shannon Heck, and I have taught middle school ELA and math for 16 years.  I teach 6th through 8th grade so I am able to see the students' progress over three years.  It is amazing to see their growth over the years and help to prepare them for high school.  I especially enjoy teaching debate and drama in ELA, and algebra in math. I received my BA in elementary education with an endorsement in language arts from St. Ambrose University in Davenport.  Later, I completed my middle school endorsement from Morningside College.  I continue to participate in professional development by taking classes to teach mindfulness to students and strategies to teach diverse students. My husband and I have two sons: Ethan, 15 and Gavin, 11.  The boys have both attended Lourdes.  Our family loves to travel, go camping, watch movies, and just spend time together.
